A 28-year-old West Palm Beach resident died Friday morning after his motorcycle collided with a car at a major intersection in Boynton Beach. The crash occurred around 7:08 a.m. at Boynton Beach Boulevard and El Clair Ranch Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Albert Garcia was operating a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja when the fatal accident happened.

Investigators determined that Garcia was traveling eastbound on Boynton Beach Boulevard at a high speed as he neared the intersection. At the same moment, a 39-year-old Boynton Beach man was operating a 2016 Kia Forte in the westbound lanes. The Kia driver had stopped and was attempting to turn left onto southbound El Clair Ranch Road when the collision occurred.

As the Kia began its left turn, Garcia braked his motorcycle but could not stop in time to avoid impact. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Kia in the intersection. The force of the collision threw Garcia from the bike, and he landed southwest of the crash site. Emergency rescue crews transported him to Delray Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. According to investigators, Garcia was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Kia was properly restrained with a seatbelt and escaped injury from the crash. No other details about potential citations or ongoing investigations were provided by the sheriff's office. The incident marks another serious traffic fatality at a major Boynton Beach intersection.
