Cities and towns in the Treasure Coast region are hosting events Saturday to commemorate the semiquincentennial of the United States. The milestone 250th anniversary of independence falls on July 4, 2026.

Communities in Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties are participating in the celebrations alongside neighboring Palm Beach County. The anniversary marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776.

The semiquincentennial represents a once-in-a-lifetime observance for residents across the region. Local governments and community groups have organized special programs for the historic occasion.
