A serious collision between an SUV and a semi-truck on Interstate 95 in Martin County left one person airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries Thursday evening.
The wreck occurred on I-95 North near Kanner Highway and closed all northbound lanes for several hours during the evening commute. Emergency responders transported one person by medical helicopter due to the severity of their traumatic injuries.
The crash caused major traffic delays on the interstate, forcing drivers to seek alternate routes through Martin County. The Florida Highway Patrol worked to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the collision.
All lanes have since reopened to traffic. The condition of the airlifted patient and the identities of those involved have not been released.
