Motorists across the Treasure Coast could encounter delays during the week of July 17-24 as construction and maintenance continue on several major roadways.

The Florida Department of Transportation's latest weekly traffic report highlights multiple full road and ramp closures expected to have the greatest impact on drivers.

Major closures to know about

Southbound I-95 exit to Bridge Road closing overnight

The southbound Interstate 95 exit ramp to County Road 708, also known as Bridge Road, at Exit 96 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 19, through Thursday, July 23.

Motorists will be directed to exit at Kanner Highway, travel south on Pratt-Whitney Road and then head east on Bridge Road.

The closure is needed for roadway construction. FDOT has scheduled July 26-30 as contingency dates in case the work is delayed by weather or other unforeseen conditions.

Martin Highway ramps closing at I-95

Two ramps serving Martin Highway at I-95 will close overnight from Sunday, July 19, through Thursday, July 23.

The northbound I-95 exit ramp to Martin Highway at Exit 110 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers will continue north to Becker Road at Exit 114, travel west on Becker Road and use southbound I-95 to return to the Martin Highway exit.

The northbound I-95 entrance ramp from Martin Highway will also be closed during the same hours. Motorists will be detoured east on Martin Highway, north on Newfield Parkway and west on Becker Road to reach the northbound I-95 entrance ramp.

FDOT said only one ramp closure will occur at a time.

Orange Avenue exit closing in Fort Pierce

The northbound I-95 exit ramp to westbound State Road 68, or Orange Avenue, will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 19, through Thursday, July 23.

Drivers will be detoured to the eastbound Orange Avenue exit, north on Jenkins Road and west on Loop Road before returning to westbound Orange Avenue.

The work includes paving and lighting installation. Contingency dates are scheduled for July 26-30.

Emergency repairs could cause major delays on I-95

Southbound I-95 between Kanner Highway and Bridge Road will have two lanes closed beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21. The lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5:30 a.m. each morning.

FDOT said the closures are needed to complete an emergency repair near mile marker 98. Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes because the early closure time could affect the evening commute.

Port St. Lucie neighborhood roads may close for several days

Extended closures are planned along several roads near the SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard widening project. Closures may begin at 7 a.m. Monday, July 20, and continue until 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, on portions of SW Jaslo Avenue, SW Jacoby Avenue, SW McCullough Avenue, SW McCall Road and SW McHord Avenue.

The roads will close intermittently for drainage and utility installation. Adjacent roads will not be closed at the same time, and access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the work.

Detours will use nearby roads including SW Paar Drive, SW McCain Street, SW McIntyre Street, SW Kabane Street and SW McDevitt Avenue. FDOT is also providing advance notice that SW Paar Drive between SW McIntosh Street and SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard may close from July 27-31.

Martin County traffic impacts

Northbound and southbound I-95 between Bridge Road and the Martin-St. Lucie county line will continue to have two lanes closed overnight for milling, resurfacing and signage work.

U.S. 1 between Fischer Street and Decker Avenue may have two lanes closed intermittently from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday for sign installation.

A1A between Shore Village Terrace and the Jensen Beach Causeway may be reduced to one lane at times Monday through Friday for pavement widening and drainage work. Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic through the work zone.

Martin Highway between Stuart West Boulevard and Citrus Boulevard may have intermittent overnight lane closures Tuesday through Thursday for milling and resurfacing.

In Stuart, two westbound lanes on Monterey Road between Ocean Boulevard and Monterey Commons Boulevard may close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

St. Lucie County traffic impacts

Port St. Lucie Boulevard between Seafury Lane and Lennard Road may have daytime lane closures Monday through Friday. Two lanes may close overnight from Sunday through Friday for drainage work, milling and repaving.

U.S. 1 between Jennings Road and Golden Oak Trail may also have lane restrictions during daytime and overnight hours.

SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard between Jordin Avenue and Alcantarra Boulevard will have intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Up to two lanes may close overnight on I-95 between Glades Cut-Off Road and the area just south of Okeechobee Road for milling and repaving.

Midway Road between Florida's Turnpike and Selvitz Road will continue to have intermittent weekday lane closures as part of the widening project.

North Causeway marine restrictions continue

Boaters traveling near the North Causeway Bridge in Fort Pierce could encounter partial or full channel closures as crews continue removing sections of the former drawbridge.

Partial channel restrictions may occur during daylight hours on weekdays through late 2026. At least 45 feet of the channel is expected to remain open during partial closures.

Intermittent full channel closures lasting up to six hours may occur through July for the removal of steel bascule bridge spans. Vessels requiring full channel access must provide the bridge tender with 120 minutes of advance notice.

The new North Causeway Bridge remains open to vehicle traffic, although nearby roads including U.S. 1, Old Dixie Highway, Juanita Avenue and Harbortown Drive may have lane restrictions.

Indian River County traffic impacts

One lane may remain closed on the 17th Street bridges between Indian River Boulevard and Indian Bay Drive as bridge rehabilitation continues.

I-95 near the new Oslo Road interchange may have one or two lanes closed overnight Sunday through Thursday for bridge work, milling and resurfacing.

On 90th Avenue between Sebastian Boulevard and 87th Street, one lane may close overnight Sunday through Friday for roadway construction.

Drivers near Sebastian Inlet should expect intermittent lane and shoulder closures on A1A from July 20-31. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

Sections of the north and south parking lots at Sebastian Inlet State Park remain closed during construction of the replacement bridge, although the park, boat ramp and portions of both parking areas remain open.

Additional I-95 closures coming the following week

FDOT is also providing advance notice of several closures scheduled to begin Sunday, July 26. All four I-95 ramps at Midway Road are expected to close separately overnight through July 31 for paving. Only one ramp will close at a time.

Detours will use St. Lucie West Boulevard, U.S. 1 and nearby interstate exits. Additional ramp closures are also planned later at Martin Highway and Kanner Highway.

Construction schedules may change because of weather or other unforeseen conditions. Drivers should allow additional travel time, follow posted detours and use caution around workers and equipment.

Real-time interstate traffic conditions are available through Florida 511. Updated lane closure information is available through FDOT District Four.
