Maria Duran, 57, of St. Lucie County claimed a $5 million top prize from the $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH scratch-off game on April 6, Florida Lottery officials announced Friday. Duran chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,262,138.

Duran purchased her winning ticket from PK 2 Quick Mart, located at 4101 Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce. The store sold the ticket that turned a $20 purchase into a multimillion-dollar jackpot.

The $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH game has overall odds of winning of 1-in-2.90. The chance of winning the $5 million top prize in this game is 1-in-4,018,135.

Florida Lottery officials released the information Friday afternoon about the April prize claim. Duran received her payment after choosing the lump-sum option rather than annuity payments over time.
