Fort Pierce police said vandalism occurred at about 4 p.m. July 24 at the Fort Pierce Recreation Center, located at 903 S. An unidentified woman was captured on camera damaging city property. Multiple air-conditioning units, a trailer and a storage shed were damaged.
The second investigation involves a series of vehicle burglaries reported during the overnight hours of July 27 in the Lawnwood Circle area. Police said the burglaries occurred in the 1300 block of Nebraska Avenue and the 1300 block of Peppertree Trail, primarily between 2 a.m. Several vehicles were burglarized.
Some had been left unlocked, while others had windows smashed to gain entry. Surveillance footage showed several people in the area wearing hoodies, shorts and backpacks.
