According to court documents in St. Lucie County, Mills was sentenced on Thursday, July 16, to two years of probation and must pay court costs. He pleaded no contest to burglary of a conveyance charge on June 29. Florida Department of Corrections database records indicate Mills' probation is supervised by its Fort Pierce Circuit office and expires on July 15, 2028.
Court documents note Mills' probation will automatically terminate after one year if he completes conditions of probation, which include a mental health evaluation and if needed, treatment, along with no contact with the victims or victims' families during the probation. Mills was accused of confronting two 18-year-olds in a vehicle during a road rage incident on the 100 block of Southwest Tulip Boulevard in Port St. Lucie. A video recording by the teenagers showed Mills reaching into the open passenger side of the teens' vehicle, grabbing one of the teens' arms to take the cellphone that was recording the incident away.
After his no-contest plea, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said Mills remained on unpaid administrative leave pending an internal investigation. A spokesperson for the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said on Thursday, July 23 that Mills' employment status is pending the completion of an internal affairs investigation.
