David Allen Kingsley Jr., 31, was arrested July 28 after fleeing a Stuart Police officer during a traffic stop and leading law enforcement on a chase that ended in Martin County with assistance from the Martin County Sheriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol. Kingsley remains in the Martin County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
A Stuart Police officer stopped Kingsley on an equipment violation the evening of July 28. After the officer discovered that Kingsley's driver's license was revoked, Kingsley took off. Kingsley led officers on a brief pursuit within the City of Stuart, striking another vehicle before continuing out of the city.
Kingsley continued driving recklessly into Martin County jurisdiction, where deputies with the Martin County Sheriff's Office and troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit. The vehicle was ultimately stopped, and Kingsley surrendered without further incident.
Kingsley was charged with two counts of fleeing eluding law enforcement, one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, failure to obey an officer's order to stop, reckless driving, and driving while license suspended or revoked. He was in the Martin County Jail as of July 30 on those charges.
