Firefighters in St. Lucie County battled a heavy blaze at a home on Wednesday. According to St. Lucie County Fire District, at about 2:24 p.m. officers responded to a fire on Melaleuca Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a plume of black smoke coming from a detached structure and three vehicles that were located in the back of the residence.

SLCFD says firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and prevented the fire from going into the home. The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported, SLCFD says.
