A Port St. Lucie man was arrested following an investigation into a social media video that shows a man abusing a small dog, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office. Video from the sheriff's office shows Ricky Lee Shieferstein, 68, appearing to kick a small dog in his backyard near a pool. The video made rounds on social media, and the outrage sparked an investigation from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
Following the investigation, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office's findings gave detectives probable cause to charge Shieferstein with animal cruelty. The sheriff's office says that Shieferstein is being held at the St. Lucie County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
