Port St. Lucie police are investigating the death of 77-year-old Michael Joseph Kramer, who was found unresponsive in a pond near his home on Friday afternoon after being reported missing earlier that day. At approximately 1:18 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a residence on the 1400 block of SW Mockingbird Drive regarding a missing adult.

Kramer was last seen by his wife inside their home at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday. The following morning, Kramer was no longer inside the residence. Kramer's personal belongings, including his shoes, wallet, and cellphone, were still inside the home.

Kramer's wife searched for him and contacted local hospitals before reporting him missing to law enforcement at approximately 1:18 p.m. Officers began searching the neighborhood and, during the canvass, located an unresponsive person in a pond directly across the street from Kramer's residence at approximately 2 p.m. The individual and clothing matched Kramer's description.

Port St. Lucie Police Department Dive Team recovered Kramer from the water near the shoreline of the pond, where he was confirmed deceased. The circumstances surrounding Kramer's death remain under investigation. Police said there are no known indications of foul play at this preliminary stage of the investigation.
