Woman found shot in Vero Beach roadway dies; sheriff's office searching for person of interest

A woman found with a gunshot wound in a Vero Beach roadway Sunday morning died at a trauma center, and the Indian River County Sheriff's Office is investigating her death as a homicide. The sheriff's office received a 911 call at approximately 8:41 a.m. Sunday reporting an adult female in the roadway in the 500 block of 1st Street.
