St. Lucie County sheriff restricts license plate reader use to forcible felonies, missing-person cases

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office is imposing new restrictions on the use of automated license plate reader technology, limiting its use to forcible felony investigations and cases involving missing or endangered people.

Sheriff Richard Del Toro Jr. announced the changes Monday, Sept. 1, as concerns continue to be raised across
