Fellsmere officials project $12 million economic impact from The Point Surf Park

Fellsmere officials say The Point Surf Park is expected to bring about $12 million to the area and help raise the profile of the small city.

Fellsmere has fewer than 5,000 residents, but city officials say the community has significant room for growth. Community development director Robert Loring said the city worked closely with the developer to make the surf park a reality.

Loring said the park will generate new interest in the community and benefit residents. He said Fellsmere has been hidden from view for many years and people are just now noticing the city's lands and surrounding amenities.
