Deputies arrested a Broward County man wanted for probation violations in four felony cases after a reported assault at a Fort Pierce hotel, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. Guyrson Maddy, 37, is being held at the St. Lucie County Jail on a domestic battery charge, with Broward County holds for probation violations.
Deputies were called to the Best Western in the 7900 block of South U.S. Highway 1 around 11:20 p.m. Friday. A witness reported seeing a man assault a woman, push her into a vehicle and drive away. Deputies confirmed that a battery had occurred and identified Maddy as the suspect, the sheriff’s office said.
A records check found an active warrant for probation violations in four separate felony cases dating from 2017 to 2025. Court records show Maddy’s criminal history dates back to 2012 and includes cases involving battery on a law enforcement officer, grand theft of a motor vehicle, third-degree grand theft and organized fraud.
Investigators identified a dark-colored 2025 Tesla Model Y they believed was involved. Deputies found a vehicle matching that description at a home on Palm Breezes Drive. A woman at the home confirmed she had been at the hotel and directed deputies to a bathroom, where they found Maddy.
Deputy Mendoza and his K-9 partner, Oso, helped find him. Maddy followed deputies’ commands and was arrested without incident, the sheriff’s office said.
