The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast has rescued 108 dogs and cats from a single hoarding case in Martin County, with more than a dozen animals already adopted into permanent homes. Animals continue to arrive from the same case every day, according to shelter officials.
Sarah Fisher of the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast said the shelter needs community support to manage the growing number of animals. Shelter staff perform spay and neuter surgeries, microchip animals, and clear them medically for adoption daily.
Donations have been pouring in to support the ongoing rescue operation. The shelter has been receiving new animals from the same hoarding case on a daily basis.
