The St. Lucie County 4-H Fall Festival scheduled for Nov. 7 has been canceled after flooding left the organization’s 4-H Farm grounds waterlogged, organizers said. The county announced the cancellation Friday on Instagram.
With more rain in the forecast, organizers said there was not enough time for conditions to improve. Holding the festival could pose safety risks for vendors, volunteers, families and attendees, they said.
People can still support 4-H youth by donating peanut butter and canned goods at UF/IFAS Extension St. Lucie County, 8400 Picos Road; Morningside Library; or the county commission’s main office. Organizers said they were disappointed to cancel the festival and thanked those who had volunteered, participated or sponsored the event.
