Republican Brian Mast won reelection Tuesday in Florida's 21st Congressional District, defeating Democratic challenger James Martin and securing another two-year term in the U.S. House of Representatives. The newly redrawn district includes portions of Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.
Mast has served in Congress since 2017 and chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Before entering politics, he served in the U.S. Army, losing both legs while serving in Afghanistan.
Martin, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and former national security official in the Biden administration, won the Democratic primary in August. The general election field also included no-party-affiliation candidate Alexander Cooke and write-in candidate David Fabrikant.
